Embrioma announces new single and concert with Fear Factory.

Embrioma will release for download, October 31st of 2009, a single with three brand new songs which will be part of the band's first complete record. This single, called "The All-Seeing Why", will also contain two exclusive bonus tracks.
Though locked in the studio, Embrioma will still be performing next to Fear Factory (USA band), December 4th of 2009, at their only performance while passing through Brazil for the "Fear Campaign Tour 2009".
Embrioma is: Marcel Inhauser (vocals), Luiz Portinari (guitars), Leandro Figliolia (guitars), Denis Azevedo (bass), Bob Smith (drums) e Dektri (synthesizer, and programming).

The highly anticipated debut full-length from San Francisco Bay Area progressive extreme metallers CORMORANT is now available for preorder. Metazoa is due out on September 22, 2009 . The CD will initially be released as a six panel digipack by Saturnine Media, while a vinyl version will be made available in the coming months.
Preorders will include a free 11x17 signed poster of Metazoa’s breathtaking album art, which was created by artist Julie Dillon. In addition, any package deal will include a free white on black sticker of the band’s new logo.

The men from Metallica continue to plow through the country on a seemingly never-ending tour for their most recent album Death Magnetic, and this morning they find themselves the subject of two very different but equally compelling news stories. The first comes from an interview with Slayer's Kerry King in U.K. rock magazine Metal Hammer. King told the magazine the he has heard from several sources that Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich was thinking about planning a tour that would feature Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax (referred to in metal circles as the "Big Four" of thrash). "I don't know Lars that well and I haven't heard it from Lars, but apparently he's talking to somebody about it," King said. Such a tour would not only be really loud but would also represent a homecoming for Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine, who was Metallica's original guitarist.

Portuguese stoner rockers Miss Lava recently shot a videoclip for the track “Black Rainbow”, which will be included in the band’s debut album mixed by Jens Bogren (Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth, Opeth, Katatonia).
The clip was directed by Bruno Simões (a talented young Portuguese director that has received some international awards with short films – Festival Sicarm Murcia, Festival Nueva Imagen and others - and has worked on visual effects on the latest Harry Potter movies and The Chronicles of Narnia (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2727124/), had photo directon by Ivo Cordeiro and camera operation by André Quendera.

KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu has joined forces with members of METALLICA, SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, DISTURBED, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and HATEBREED to record an instrumental song to benefit DEFTONES bassist Chi Cheng.
As some of you may know, Cheng is currently in a semi-conscious state following an automobile accident in Santa Clara, California on November 4, 2008. Chi is slowly making progress but he needs your help.
Cheng's brother wrote in an online post that Chi's insurance company had stopped paying for his treatment in mid-January. His mother posted that Cheng's house was returned to the bank and his dog was given away.

Original BITZKRIEG Guitarist IAN JONES Dies

Ian Jones, original guitarist for New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) legends BLITZKRIEG, passed away on August 10 after a long illness.
Jones was in BLITZKRIEG in 1980-1981 and played rhythm guitar on BLITZKRIEG's 1981 seven-inch EP "Buried Alive", which was released by Neat Records. He also co-wrote the classic track "Blitzkrieg" (made famous by METALLICA on their "Creeping Death" EP), which was on the B-side.
Ian's funeral will be held in Leicester, England on August 19.

LP Version of WOE’s “A Spell for the Death of Man” Available Now

Philadelphia-based black metal band WOE has announced the official release of the long-awaited LP edition of their debut full-length, A Spell for the Death of Man. A mid-July release is planned as a collaborative effort between Creeping Vine Productions and Woe frontman Chris Grigg's own label, Subvert All Media.
Originally released on CD by American label Stronghold Records in 2008, A Spell for the Death of Man received universally positive reviews, and was hailed as one of the “most important black metal releases in years” by a number of publications.
Written and recorded as a solo project, WOE has since expanded into a full band (featuring members of Woods of Ypres, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, XXX Maniak, The Green Evening Requiem, and Infernal Stronghold), one whose intense live performances have wowed audiences up and down the East Coast and gained legions of new fans with each performance.
