Cryophobia, new EP by Latvian Preternatural

Latvian dark death metalers Preternatural has posted online their new EP called "Cryophobia" for FREE downloading.
In october of 2009 the band released their debut video "Cryophobia". Now, the so-titled audio follower is available through the internet only, and is absolutely FREE for downloading or listening.
EP was recorded and mixed with the help of sound engineer Gint Lundberg at "Pentagon Music" studio in Latvia. It contains two new songs from the upcoming album, one song from the band's first demo record, re-recorded and re-arranged, and 2 live tracks performed in Riga, Latvia in 2009.

HEAVENWOOD's new pre-production song 'Morning Glory Clouds (In Manus Tuas Domine)' is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. This track its taken from the band's forthcoming album that will be recorded this summer.
Meanwhile, Heavenwood have re-recorded their first four-track demo-tape titled ‘ As Illusive As A Dream ‘ dated from 1994. A work recorded on the old times under the monicker of DISGORGED. Later the band would sign a record deal with the German label Massacre Records and changed their name to Heavenwood.

The 24th and 25th of April will see two concerts of Metallica in the Olympic Stadium, Moscow.
The band will visit Russian capital in the framework of its world tour World Magnetic Tour 2010 in support of its last album Death Magnetic.
The previous concert of Metallica band in Russia took place only in St.-Petersburg on the improvised Day of Metallica in Russia on 18th July, 2008 — on that day in 2007 they band gave a concert in Moscow Luzhniki Stadium.

Virginia-based heavy rock band VALKYRIE recently signed a deal with METEOR CITY RECORDS (THE OBSESSED, NEBULA, UNIDA) Meteor City will reissue both Valkyrie's self-titled debut album and their second album, Man of Two Visions. Release dates are set for July 5 (Europe) and July 6 (North America.)
Valkyrie has also announced appearances at the first annual FEVER TO SING festival in Blacksburg, Virginia, on the weekend of March 26-28, 2010 and long-running college radio conference MACROCK in Harrisonburg, Virginia on the weekend of April 2-3, 2010.

Bay Area progressive extreme metallers CORMORANT will be joining punk legend JELLO BIAFRA and his latest project THE GUANTANAMO SCHOOL OF MEDICINE at Pentaluma, CA's Phoenix Theatre on February 27th. The up-and-coming melodic death/black/folk metallers will be playing material off their critically acclaimed debut, Metazoa, as well as several new songs off their upcoming second album. Cormorant were personally invited to play by Ron Nichols (current bassist for The Guantanamo School of Medicine, as well as for avant-garde metallers Hammers of Misfortune).

METALLICA has been confirmed for this year's Rock in Rio Madrid festival, which will take place over two six days — June 4-5, June 10-12 and June 14 — at Rock City, a 200,000-square-meter (50-acre) area in Arganda del Rel, 17 km (10 miles) from Madrid, Spain. METALLICA will appear at the event on Monday, June 14.
Tickets go on sale February 23 at 12:01 a.m. at www.rockinrio.com or in Spain through El Corte Ingles (902 400 222). The daily ticket price is 69 euros and VIP tickets may be purchased by sending an e-mail to taquilla@rockinrio.com.

A light-hearted instructional video on the art of grind drumming has been released by Richard Hoak (Brutal Truth, Total Fucking Destruction) and can be viewed at this location.
This video was directed by noted surf ‘n skate filmmaker Tyson Montrucchio, who has recently made music videos for Brutal Truth, Cattle Decapitation, God Forbid, Lamb of God, 16, and more.
Hoak's avant-grindcore band, Total Fucking Destruction, are currently hard at work on the follow-up to 2008's Peace, Love, and Total Fucking Destruction and are preparing to decimate Baltimore as part of this year's Maryland Death Fest

The final tracklisting and preorder information for the second edition of the Falling Down Compilation has been posted. In a recent interview for Noisecreep, the creators of the project revealed that the compilation will feature unreleased tracks by a number of heavy-hitting experimentally-inclined heavy music groups, including The Dillinger Escape Plan, Jucifer, The Ocean, Gnaw Their Tongues, Mumakil, U.S. Christmas, God is an Astronaut, and many more.
Falling Down II was mastered by and mastering by Julien Fehlmann (Kehlvin, Unfold, Vancouver, Yog, Forceed, Art of Falling, Shelving) and featured artwork by Synckop. Over a dozen nationalities are represented on the CD, which will be limited to just 1,000 digipack copies and features a track from The Poisoned Glass, a new project featuring S.Dahlquist (Asva, Sunn O))),Burning Witch) and Edgy59 (Burning Witch).

New Jersey progressive death metal outfit THE BINARY CODE are currently pounding the pavement with Relapse tech-thrashers Revocation and French experimentalists Hypno5e on the 2010 Metal As Art Tour, and took some time out of their hectic schedule to check in from the road.
Guitarist Jesse Zuretti writes,
“We've just rounded the turnpoint to begin our trek back east! From the very start of tour we knew we were going to have a good time.
As I'm sure some of you may have heard, we were in a pretty bad van accident just a few days into the tour. The guy whom hit us was found responsible in full for the accident, and rightfully so. Nevertheless, our drummer, Umar (along with our wizardly manager), pulled it together and found a way for us to continue the tour in a minivan rental. If I might add, we also would've been homebound if it weren't for Hypno5e and Revocation sharing gear and stow space.

HEART OF WINTER FEST 2010 Lineup & Running Order Announced
The lineup and running order for the second annual Heart of Winter Fest has been released by the festival's creators, Drew and Elway of Richmond, VA-based black metallers Bastard Sapling (who have been featured on Metal Injection, Terrorizer, Noisecreep, and more).
Heart of Winter II will return to Alley Katz in Richmond, VA on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, 30, 2010, and feature a host of both established and up-and-coming underground acts (including new Candlelight signings Woe and NYC buzz band Castevet, as well as veteran funeral doom crew Evoken and Florida black metallers Benighted in Sodom).
