So I know a band that in the last press write up was called "challenging, Mr. Bungle-esque art-metal tomfoolery" and "Hyper and Mike Patton-inspired funhouse-mirror antics"...This band's songs change riffs and melodies several times in one song, branching out into other genres, but always falling back to a metal default--

So what category should they be called? Experimental Metal?? it's hard defining a band like this. They're too heavy for the indie-coffeehouse--emo people but often the typical Metalhead doesn't appreciate their lack of seriousness and deviation from the standard orthodox metal. I called them Art-Metal once and the metal kids laughed at that. Though if they had of listened they would have been blown away...

So if you know a good genre name for these guys let me know!!!
